Happy Anniversary to Us!

We hope last week’s Memorial Day holiday found you well! On the same holiday weekend in 2022, Tyler and I made a covenant to love, cherish, and support each other for the rest of our lives. What followed has been a wonderful journey of growth and many, many blessings!

Looking back, I think we should have expected that married life would be adventurous. After all, Tyler proposed in a hot air balloon! After two honeymoon weeks in the desert, we decided that the adventurous lifestyle was meant for us. Everything has been a whirlwind ever since! We have visited 50 national parks since our wedding day, but the true accomplishment has been the marriage we've built. Every year, we become better communicators, better conflict managers, and better at supporting each other. Our relationship has settled into the kind of stable safety net I could have only dreamt about before I met Tyler.

Four years is a long time for a pair of twenty-somethings, but we know it is a blip in the long years we have ahead of us. Our prayer is to continue growing closer to each other and closer to Christ over those years ahead. This marriage is a wonderful gift. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Last week was a wonderful chance to celebrate our anniversary together. We took intentional time away from our phones and computers to spend quality time together in two of our favorite national parks. We are home now, but hardly caught up from our long trip! (Our suitcases are still completely packed and lingering in disarray lol) Our normal publishing schedule will resume shortly!

Go hug a loved one today, friends. Remember the many gifts you have been given. We are blessed!

When Grace was a kid, one of her favorite pastimes was typing up “newspapers” about farm life and sending them to friends and family. As an adult, she’s moved on from writing about baby goats, but she still loves sharing stories with others. When she’s not telling embarrassing stories about herself, she occasionally publishes them here for your entertainment.

Both Grace and Tyler take the photos featured in the blog posts. The best pictures were certainly taken by Tyler, who’s an excellent photographer but doesn’t give himself any credit!
